One important question to ask a potential date (and this should be done very carefully and with a lot of tact) is, “What happened to end your last relationship”? The answer will tell you a lot. If she takes all the blame herself, that isn’t a good sign. If she puts all the blame on the last guy, that isn’t a good sign either. If she says that they parted by mutual agreement and remain friends that is a very good sign. Just be sure that you are not the rebound guy or being used to make another guy jealous.
